Strengthening Community, Networks, and Practices to Prepare for Tomorrow's Opportunities

We invite you and your colleagues to join us for the 2025 Texas Association for Higher Education Assessment (TxAHEA) Conference. TxAHEA will host its 4th annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, at the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio River Walk on October 6th-8th. This conference brings together higher education professionals across Texas and the surrounding states to network and share innovative ideas about accreditation and assessment.
The Association is accepting proposals through April 30th.

The planning committee welcomes proposals regarding:

Assessing student learning and success

Assessing administrative units
-
General education assessment
-
Interdisciplinary or cross-departmental assessment
-
Engaging faculty and staff with assessment and accreditation

Collaborations among colleagues: faculty, librarians, student success professionals, student support staff, technology staff, and graduate students

Distance education
-
Student Affairs assessment
-
SACSCOC and other accreditations
TxAHEA is a conference for all! We encourage proposals from:

All higher education institutions (two-year, four-year, public, private, graduate institutions)
-
First-time presenters
-
Student and faculty partner presentations
-
Experienced professionals
Sessions are 50-minutes and can be a
-
Presentation: 40-minute presentation from 1-4 presenters, concluding with a 10-minute Q&A.

Discussion: 1-2 discussion leaders provide a short topic introduction and then use guided questions to promote group discussion.

Panel: A moderator and several panelists who provide a variety of perspectives on a topic. Panels provide an opportunity to examine a specific assessment or accreditation problem or topic from a variety of perspectives. Panelists can be in a variety of roles (faculty, staff, administrator) and a variety of institutions (two-year, four-year, small, large, public, and private). Organizers of these panels propose the topic, identify participants, and detail the agenda to be used.

The goal of this conference is to bring together higher education professionals across Texas and the surrounding states to share ideas and information about accreditation and assessment.
things to do in san antonio
Although you’ll probably not want to leave the fabulously renovated Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk with a pool on the rooftop and access to the river walk, San Antonio holds many treasures for the curious adventurer. With all the things to do and so many ways to relax in San Antonio, you may want to spend a couple extra days.
Some of the most popular attractions including the San Antonio River Cruises, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, the Aztec Theatre, and the Kallison Love Lock Walk Bridge are within walking distance. Biga on the Banks, a popular upscale restaurant, is just across the street; however, access to the riverwalk opens up an endless assortment of nearby restaurants to meet the tastes and budgets of all conference attendees.
